Porcine parvovirus 2 (PPV2) is a member of a recently discovered worldwide group of porcine parvoviruses and is often detected in the background of respiratory symptoms, suggesting a pathological role for the virus in the disease. The present invention relates to an immunological method, preferably an immunoassay or a serological method, in which the binding of an antibody specific for PPV2 or a capsid protein antigen of PPV2 origin is detected, the capsid protein antigen of PPV2 origin and its use.
