The present invention relates to an apparatus which makes the fine-grain fraction, generated during the waste treatment processes of producing fuel from municipal waste, suitable for further utilization in biogas plants as a valuable organic matter. The fine-grain fraction of the mixed municipal waste is cleaned in a screw scrubber and the organic matter content is pulped, which produces biogas feedstock, and the other material stream from the technology is suitable for the production of RDF fuel.
