József Tálas’ extensive experience covers procedures and legal consulting in all fields of intellectual property, including enforcement in relation to patents, trademarks, copyrights and unfair market practices, as well as related business, investment and tax law matters. He also has significant experience in technology transfer, licensing and other business negotiations involving Hungarian start-ups and investment companies, as well as assisting and advising on legal transactions relating to the sale and purchase of such companies. Within the scope of patent law activities he has been involved in drafting numerous in-house agreements and regulations, most notably relating to innovation and inventors’ remuneration, for Hungarian research centres. József is an internationally recognised leading authority on patent enforcement, particularly in the field of pharmaceuticals.

He is the author of numerous publications on his specialist fields of expertise, including the Hungarian chapters of both Chamber’s and Kluwer’s Global Patent Litigation and BNA’s International Patent Litigation; he has also contributed articles to the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice published by Oxford Academic and publications of the EPO Academy.

Prior to joining Danubia Legal, József worked as an external legal consultant for Sár and Partners Attorneys at law, where he had previously also served as Managing Partner. He has also worked as a tax advisor for KPMG and spent a year as a trainee at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam in 1998.

József graduated in law from Eötvös Lorand University Faculty of Law in 1996. In 1998 he qualified as a tax advisor.
